Overtime pay and your contract
Overtime pay = extra hours × normal hourly rate × overtime multiplier. Time-and-a-half is 1.5×; double time is 2×. Regular hours and overtime hours are entered separately for the same pay period.
These are gross figures before tax, National Insurance and other deductions. Employers do not automatically have to pay a higher overtime rate; check your contract. Your average pay must still meet the applicable minimum wage.
